2 Part Lesson — Marcelo demos two important escapes from a Back/Armbar transition: [I] If you don't know where your opponent's hands are after he takes your Back with both hooks set, use your cross hand to intercept his choking arm when it comes around over your shoulder to attack. Once gripped, apply both hands to his wrist/sleeve and pass his arm over your head so you may escape your back to the mat. [II] If your opponent is ready to set-up an Armbar after you pass his arm to defend the Back, push his leg away from swinging onto your face and let go of his arm to grip his collar. Smash his knee down to the ground by driving on your toes and fold his legs together as you rise up on top. Once on top, now look to release your arm from his hold.
