Knee Buckle vs Guillotine
2 Part Lesson — Paul shows how to defend the Standing Guillotine Choke: [I] If your opponent catches you in a Guillotine Choke after shooting in from standing, you can prevent the finish by immediately wrapping your arm around the cross shoulder, and preventing it from raising up for the squeeze. Secondly, use your other hand to alleviate the pressure around your neck from his choking arm. Step around to the side opposite of your head in the choke, and buckle the opponent's knee in to break his base, bringing him down into Side Control. If your opponent holds the Guillotine, his own hold can put him to sleep if you apply heavy shoulder pressure to the side of his neck. [II] If your opponent isn't letting you get to his side because he's following you, use your hand to check his knee and allow you to cut the corner for the takedown.
