Gi Grip Break vs Half Guard → Cross Arm Under Hook and Head vs Half Guard → Over Under Pass vs Half Guard
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo expounds more about remaining tight and close yet quick and explosive: [I] If your opponent frames against your chest, shoulders, arms, and face to prevent you from advancing close for a Half Guard Pass, make grips on his sleeve and back and jerk his arm out of the way without releasing your pressure. Use your chest to prevent him from recovering his arm back as a frame and implement the Over/Under Pass versus Half Guard. [II] If your opponent manages to catch your outside arm after you throw his frame off of your chest, keep close and yank your outside arm free of his hands; come back but over the top of both of his arms and cup his shoulder. Use your grips now to pull him onto his side, exposing his back to more pressure from your chest. Finish the pass with the Over/Under by stepping on his knee and sliding your leg out of the Half Guard.
