Cross Arm Under Hook and Head vs Half Guard → Knee Slide Pass → Turtle to Back Control
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo finds an island of control in a sea of nogi slipping: [I] Smack your opponent's frame off of your body and land tightly around his torso, preventing his arm from retracting back to become a frame. Capture the opponent's head in a "Howdy" type control and release your leg from his hold by performing a Knee Slide Pass. [II] It is important to free your knee before allowing the opponent to turn his back to you so he may escape the pressure of the "Howdy" Control. After you free your leg, look to catch the Crucifix or follow his Roll-Away.
