3 Part Lesson - Marcelo circumvents roadblocks while passing from his knees: [I] Passing while kneeling can be a helpful approach when your opponent is looking to build up his guard under your base or directly attack your legs. Incrementally close the distance on the opponent by transitioning to Quarter Mount then Half Mount with Double Underhooks. Drive up his body until you can lock Underhook & Head Control to pass out of the Half Guard. [II] If your opponent frames your head and shoulders to prevent you from reaching his head, swat them off from above and press forward for the Underhook & Crossface combination. [III] If your opponent pummels the underhook, try re-pummeling with either the original side Underhook or the Reverse Underhook. If the Reverse Underhook begins to fail, go back to the regular Underhook.
