2 Part Lesson - Marcelo survives and escapes from the Triangle: [I] Immediately seek posture when caught suddenly with one arm inside the Closed Guard. Post strongly with both hands reinforcing your hold on the opponent's stomach to help press away from submission. Prevent the opponent from changing the angle of his hips by using your knee to block his path. Either break out of the Triangle or bring your outside arm back inside the guard to escape. [II] If your opponent grabs your sleeve to break your grip and cross your arm for the finish, quickly capture his lapel and anchor your hand away from getting moved across his belly. If the opponent holds your head down to break your posture, smack his arms off to the side and swiftly remake your grips to defend.
