4 Part Technique - Use quick timing and pull your leg out straight to escape the Single Leg. If the opponent really establishes control for the takedown, you need more power to escape. Turn away and kick again. If the second escape attempt was not enough to free your leg, the opponent's neck will commonly be open for the Guillotine. It's best to develop strong techniques on one side to create the most efficient game. If the opponent attacks the leg on the opposite side of your better choking arm, you can no longer finish the guillotine traditionally with your leg over his shoulder. You must use your elbow over his shoulder instead and tangle his legs in half guard to prevent the guard pass.

@StoicDude

You dont want the guy to jump to the side. But if he does, this choke would still work.

On the 4th part of the technique, does it matter if the guy comes across, to cross side?
That is usually the traditional guillotine defense.
Do you want to stay squared up with the elbow on top guillotine or it doesn't really matter?
