2 Part Lesson — Marcelo submits and passes with the Guillotine against De-la-Riva Guard: [I] If your opponent pummels for an Underhook while you are holding him down with the Back-Step, glance behind your shoulder to see if his or her chin is up and the neck is exposed for the Guillotine Choke; finish on top in the Mount or on bottom in Guard. [II] Hold your opponent's foot to help keep base if your opponent tries to buck you off of the Back-Step Position. If you latch onto your opponent's head for the Guillotine and the wrap isn't good enough to finish with the Choke, keep a hold and use your free leg to kick yourself out of the Half Guard for the pass.
