Folding Pass → Double Under Hooks vs Half Guard → Over Under Pass → Shoulder Drive Pass
3 Part Lesson — Marcelo implements a passing sequence that avoids the opponent's offensive grips: [I] Smack your opponent's knee and cover his or her thigh with your hips for a Folding Pass. Secure Double Underhooks around the torso as you clear the feet and circle to the side or travel to the mount. [II] If your opponent reacts in a manner that doesn't allow you to fold the legs together, drop down and force the Half Guard holding with Double Underhooks. Drive on your toes forward to go chest-to-chest where you can switch to Over/Under Control and pass the Half.[III] If you cannot pummel the Farside Underhook while forcing the Half Guard, perform Bernardo's Over/Under Pass, driving your shoulder heavily into the opponent until you can free your legs.
