2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo ensures his claim over Back Control with the Seatbelt: If you make your opponent take a bad shot with a Collar Grip, spin around and stay behind by latching on with Seatbelt Control. If you are too high over top, try not to release your grip to post on the mat. Rather, shimmy down the tree, and shrug yourself backward behind the plane of the opponent's shoulders. Cinching up on your arms to keep tight will leave one of your wrists vulnerable for a counter-grip. [03:13] If your opponent raises his or her hips up to make your fall over top, quickly jump off to the side and catch yourself from getting flipped. Launch into a back attack and roll for hooks, jump to Back-Pack, or set the Crucifix.
