2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo retains Back Control against escape for choking: If your opponent grabs the sleeve of your choking arm while lying on your Weak-Side Seatbelt Control (your head is a pillow) yank your arm behind his or her shoulder and look to secure grips on the hands. Open the opponent's lapel and feed the gi into your choking hand for the Bow-N-Arrow Choke (Berimbau, Bow & Arrow, Othenjime, British Strangle, et cetera). Pull back your opponent's forehead to defeat the chin tuck defense against the collar grip and look to catch the leg as you sit up for the squeeze. Use your hooks to turn the opponent away from escaping through the Weak-Side and switch your feet for the Cross-Position finish. [05:30] Marcelo considers other options for winning grips in the Hand-Fight from Seatbelt Control. If your opponent's top arm is loose, shove it down toward your top leg and catch it into an Arm Trap. Dig your wrist-bone straight into the neck under the chin and saw across the throat to either the full figure-four style finish of the Rear Naked Choke (Mata-Leao, Hadakajime, etc) or the faster Straight Choke with Gable Grip.
