2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo fixes an imperfect transition to the Back: If your opponent prevents you from fastening the Seatbelt after you've spun around to his or her back from the Front Headlock Position, keep your knee behind the nearside arm to prevent a Single and try to rip your arm free from the opponent's control. You can team up against the grip with your free arm from over the top or under as 1on1 Wrist Control. When you yank free, immediately lock on the Seatbelt Control to keep hold of the Back. You can transition to the Crucifix if you need to finish or set your hooks for Back Mount to score points. Don't roll over your opponent to the opposite side unless you have the Seatbelt Control. If you're not ready to keep the Back, stay on top in Side Control. [05:20] If your opponent decides to fall to his or her side and pull guard from the Turtle Position, retain your control over the top position by sliding your knee and hip in between your opponent's hip and armpit. Essentially, you are trying to finishing a Knee Slide Pass before the opponent's guard has a chance to even develop and become a problem.
