Half Guard Pass to Mount
2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo opts for the Mount from Half Guard (top): If your opponent is effectively defending your pass into Side Control against their Half-Guard, you oftentimes advance directly into the Full Mount Position. Starting with Underhook & Head Control, shift your weight away from the side of your underhook and trapped leg; this will help you avoid the Upa/Bridge Escape once you've landed in the Mount. Base your elbows high and wide, leaning heavily towards the side of your Crossface. [05:39] If you feel your opponent crunch against your Underhook, take the time to open them back up before attempting to pass into the Mount.
