3 Part Lesson -- Marcelo breaks a pesky grip on his pants: If your opponent makes a grip on your pants while holding him/her from the Front Headlock Position, sprawl your leg farther away until they must let go of your leg. Don't put your knee back down or bring your leg close again where they can re-grab your pants. Instead, keep your leg hovering until you can bring their elbow across and sling yourself behind the arm for Seatbelt Control. Either take the Crucifix or set your hooks for Back-Mount. [02:55] If your opponent captures your leg after you've spun around and fastened the Seatbelt, perform another sprawl but sideways until the grip breaks. Immediately, hide your knee behind the opponent's triceps so they cannot readily grab onto your leg to recover, reverse, or escape. [06:11] When sprawling your leg sideways, don't bring your leg too close to your opponent's potential guard recovery. Keep your leg slightly at an angle away from his or her legs until the grip breaks and you can settle behind their arm.
