2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo shows a set-up for his High-Elbow Guillotine from Butterfly: Control and clear your opponent's hands out of the way while coordinating yours in the execution of a Snap-Down into Guillotine with a Seat-Belt (Ball-n-Socket) Grip. Scoot your hip out to the side to help raise your elbow upwards on top of your opponent's shoulder after you've tucked their head under your armpit on the side of your primary choking arm. If you have extra space, swing your leg on top of your opponent's back to help keep them in place as you squeeze their neck. Cover the back of your opponent's neck with your upper body so that their head doesn't slip free as you extend hips. [04:05] If your opponent's head isn't low enough to be readily tucked under your armpit, you can hop up off your butt to help reach your opponent's neck. Disrupt your opponent's base by lifting with your Butterfly-Hooks and dropping them back down to the mat; this can help set up the choke and bring their head lower so you can snap it down and attack.
