Lesson Part 1 of 2 -- Marcelo shows a simple method for shooting on the feet: Engage your opponent from standing by clinching with Collar & Elbow Control; remember to keep your lead leg in front when moving around, shuffle your feet to maintain your preferred left or right-sided stance for taking a shot. To increase your likelihood for success, shoot when your opponent is stepping forward into you. Use the Collar & Elbow Control to pull your opponent into taking a step and meeting you halfway into your takedown attempt. Use your free arm (not the Collar-Tying Arm) to grab your opponent's forward leg with a Single-Leg Takedown. Finish the takedown by Running-the-Pipe; perform a side-step followed by a back-step as you bow your shoulder onto their thigh and drop low.
