Marcelo offers Megan some advice on how to pass the Butterfly-Guard with a Cross-Grip made on the opponent's pants: One can try to find a way to weaken the lifting power of their opponent's Butterfly-Hook by pummeling for inside position with your shins, or by framing the hook with your elbow. However, if your opponent is keen to take control over your elbow while retaining a high-hook, you may need to switch up your attack and direct effort into a pass to the opposite side, e.g. Folding Pass.
