Knee Slide Pass vs Butterfly
Marcelo & Jimmy help Bryan with Standing-Passes against Butterfly-Guard: Taking the initiative to pass successfully begins well before contact is made; don't give your opponent a chance to retaliate once your enter inside their guard and engage in grip-fighting. If your opponent leaves a large opening in their defenses, thrust your knee forward while pummeling for your Under-Hook right away, falling into their gaps. If you enter in between their legs with your knee and push them back flat, be ready to implement a chain of other connected passing options, e.g. the Back-Step Pass after a Knee-Cut. Likewise, if you're on bottom playing guard, constantly pull your opponent into an off-balance so they don't have a chance to formulate a proper attack.
