High-Elbow Guillotine Choke Grip Details
Marcelo showcases a detailed look on how he specifically grips for choking an opponent's neck with a Guillotine-Choke: Bend your hand such that you are cupping your opponent's chin with your wrist against their throat; forgo using an open hand to grab onto their jaw (i.e. Chin-Strap, Chin-Whip, Hingertine, et al.). Keep your fist closed with your thumb pressed against only your forefinger, making the shape of an arrowhead with your forefinger's middle knunckle as the point. Clasp your secondary hand around the backside of your closed-hand aligning your pinkie-tips together along with the ridge of your hand against your knuckles. Keep the thumb of your secondary-hand pinching tighly to the side of your forefinger to help prevent your opponent from latching onto any fingers in defense. If you cannot stabilize your bottom position with a Three-Quarter Guard for the throttle, you can opt for any variation of Half-Guard to help stop your opponent. If they begin to bail from top position to try and escape, follow them on top into the Mount where you can let your weight help squeeze in the finish.
