Guillotine from Front Headlock, Guillotine vs Takedown
2-Part Advanced Lesson -- Marcelo & Josh demonstrate a great tactic against a lowered stance: If your opponent has dropped down into a low wrestling stance when facing them in neutral position, take advantage of the shortened distance to their neck by latching yourself onto a Front-Headlock; stay on top of your opponent's hands before reaching the back of their head with a Collar-Tie and snapping them down onto your choking-wrist. Immediately, connect your hands together and drag your opponent down onto their knees where you can then pull into a Three-Quarter Guard (i.e. one leg over their back, the other's shin across their stomach). Raise your elbow high over their shoulder to help block them from driving their shoulder into you as you look to zip your grip up and throttle for the finish. [2:10] If your opponent shoots onto your legs before you can initially attack their neck, sprawl back as much as possible to slow their progress; next, look to concede the take-down but with the reward of exposing their neck for the High-Elbow Guillotine. Connect your hands together without using your thumbs, and shelf your elbow onto their shoulder to help prevent your opponent from ruining your connection. Lock your leg around their back to stop them from giving up the sweep to escape the submission.
