Hand Fighting from Butterfly, Hook Sweep Variation from 1Leg X Guard
Marcelo hits a rudimentary sweep against a kneeling opponent: Ideally, one should seek to close the distance on a kneeling opponent from the Butterfly-Guard and secure a strong, dominant chest-to-chest connection with at least one Under-Hook; however, if your opponent is keeping their elbows tight againts their sides, you cannot always readily pummel for such grips. Track and deflect your opponent's hands until you can seize control over their Collar & Elbow for a Hook-Lift from your Butterfly-Guard. Feed your leg on the side of your sleeve-control underneath your opponent's base while they are elevated, and place your heel against their hip for 1Leg-X. Keep your toes pointed towards the outside so as to not allow your opponent to crush your leg inwards into a stacked reaping position. When your opponent tries to address your legs around their hip, grab onto their far-sleeve and dump them over with a modified version of Hook-Sweep (i.e. Corner-Reversal, Reverse-Butterfly, Sumigaeshi, et al.). Quickly, follow your opponent's trajectory and arrive on top seeking greater control to solidify the sweep.
