Double Leg Takedown, Guillotine Escape vs Closed Guard
2 Part Technique - When caught in the Guillotine Choke from Closed Guard, it is important to drive your weight forward on your toes to take away his ability to extend his hips. This will allow you the time necessary to address his grip, and technically remove his control around your neck to escape the submission. Always look to break his grip by locating the hand of the wrist he is grabbing to make the lock, and peeling it off in a way that compromises the integrity of his wrist. If the opponent is smart and attacks your neck with Marcelo's style guillotine, rather than the arm-in variant, quickly swim your arm up and over the elbow opposite of the side your head is. Once you've stopped him from using his elbow by driving weight on top of it, use your other arm to assess the grip situation and remove it accordingly.
