Collar and Elbow Control vs Butterfly, Knee Slide Pass vs Butterfly, Quarter Nelson vs Half Guard, Underhook and Head vs Half Guard, High Leg Over vs Single Leg
3 Part Technique - If you can't find an edge to push your opponent's shoulders flat for the Knee Slide Pass, apply the Quarter Nelson to make your opponent retract his underhook and grab for your back. When he tries to wrap his arm around your side, block him with your forearm and secure Collar & Elbow Control to return him to his back for the Knee Slide Pass. If he counters your Quarter Nelson with the Pumphandle Gi Grip, don't match him strength for strength; rather, turn him more onto his side and keep pushing his head down, baiting him with a Single Leg Takedown. When he turns onto his knees, perform a High Leg Over to free your leg from the pumphandle and push him away. If he stand up with the single before you can free your leg, keep his head down and grab onto his wrist. Perform the High Leg Over to free yourself from the single, but do not try to take his back because he can dump you hard with a follow-up takedown.
