3 Part Technique - In the moment you clasp your hands together for the Guillotine from Side Control, your opponent may try to bump you over onto your back in an attempt to thwart your choke's success. This is no inconvenience to you as long as you prevent him from jumping over to his safe side, the opposite side of the choke. Accomplish this by blocking his hips with an upright leg, securing the position with any guard variation or leg entanglement you can assemble, and finishing the choke with an elbow shelved upon his shoulder. If he happens to throw your legs by, before you can stop him from jumping over, at least catch his leg with a butterfly hook. Use this hook to sweep him off of you enough to belly down, and reset your guard for the Guillotine Choke. If he does manage to make it over to his safe side, he's not out of the woods quite yet; turn away from him onto your side, and place your forearm on his shoulder once again to get the tap. To prevent him from somersaulting over you to escape, lace your hooks onto his leg from the outside any way you can.
