Turning Escape vs Mount, Half Guard to Guard
1 Part Technique - While mounted, as long as you can hold off his hips from riding higher up on your torso, your bridge will elevate his weight off of the mat. However, your opponent may be keen on protecting his arms from the Arm Control Bridge Escape, and evade letting your capture one of his posts. Rather than wasting energy bumping his hips into the air, hoping to catch his arm, direct your effort toward his legs. Turn onto your side and push his leg down so you can slide out your leg to hook him into half guard. To recover the Closed Guard, turn onto your opposite side, but prepare to frame off both his crossface and knee from closing distance until you can bring your knee up and through to block his hip. To free your ankle from the inside, hip escape a third and final time to close the guard.
