Breaking the Closed Guard
Standing to break the Closed Guard can be problematic, especially when your opponent is keen with the Ankle Pull Sweep. One clever way to prevent him from going to this move, is to step on his bicep when you leap up to your feet. This should buy you plenty of time to uncross his ankles before he has a chance to free his arm and mess with your base. This movement takes practice, hence this drill that Henrique demonstrates for his class.
