2 Part Technique - The Turning Pass vs Half Guard is an excellent choice for when your opponent is hiding the space you need for the underhook and he refuses to unlock his legs. Hold onto his toes to prevent him from posting on the mat, and also to help stabilize yourself on top as you kick your leg free from the half. The same base and control for the Turning Pass can also be applied from the Reverse Half Guard for the Back Step Pass.
