Underhook and Head vs Half Guard, Over Under Pass vs Half Guard, Turning Pass vs Half Guard
2 Part Technique - Proper base is everything when it comes to passing the Half Guard. Never place yourself with your hips directly on top of your opponent's; this may be what he needs to reverse you with a sweep. Instead, throw your weight off-center, sprawling your hips as low as possible for the Over Under Pass. It may take several attempts to place yourself to the side; luckily, gravity is on your side and your opponent will tire long before you do. However, if he's super strong and you can't seem to catch a break pulling his hips down, turn onto your side and wedge your free knee inside for the Turning Pass vs Half with Underhook & Head Control.
