Back Step Pass vs Half Guard, Back Step to Over Under Pass
2 Part Technique - The Back Step into Reverse Half Guard is an excellent solution for when your opponent places you inside his Half Guard and you cannot pummel for an underhook. As you land your hip onto the mat on the opposite side, try to find the underhook again for the Back Step Pass. If he stays tight during the Back Step and he doesn't reveal the space for the underhook, one answer is to return back to normal Half Guard for the Over Under Pass. The key of this lesson is to learn how and when to switch your base on your opponent until you can progress forward with solid passing control.
