4 Part Lesson — Paul teaches several correlated options for escaping the Front Headlock Position and out from underneath the Sprawl: [I] Sit-Out Escape Armdrag vs Front Headlock; shove your shoulder into the hold, cut outside for an angle, and throw the opponent by to Turtle, taking his back with an Armdrag or Spiral Ride variation. [II] If you feel the drag is unavailable, abandon the attempt for top position and perform a sit-out to pull Half Guard. Once underneath, try holding the tricep for a Bridge Sweep. [III] The Sit-Out Half Guard Entry and the Sit-Out Armdrag are complementary; if your opponent counters one, follow-up with the other. [IV] If he looks to attack the Marcelotine, block the elbow from rising on top of your shoulder and perform the Sit-Out Spin/Duck-Under/Peak-Out Escape. This roll can leave you with many options on top.

This is my favorite escape from the front headlock position. I use this all the time.

Everyone from a pure BJJ background seems to use the sit out spin / hip heist style escapes, but this one is not as common. Unless the opponent did wrestling, I find that most are not familiar with it and therefore don't know how to block the angle properly the first couple of times.
