3 Part Lesson — Marcelo reveals several key details behind one of his fastest submissions: [I] If your opponent attempts to push you flat onto your back from Seated/Butterfly Guard with a Collar Grip, place your feet on his hips to maintain distance while you break his grip and feed his hand under your armpit for the Elbow Control Armbar; use your feet on his hips to scoot forward as you lay back, pinch your elbow, turn his elbow upward, and elevate your hips for the tap. [II] If the opponent's grip is too low to break off quickly, simply neglect the break and feed his hand, still clenching your jacket, underneath your armpit for the submission, using the slack of your gi. [III] If the opponent manages to knock away your feet from his hips to pass, ward away his advance with your free hand and reinsert your bottom shin across his chest to pinch around his shoulder and still finish with the Elbow Control Armbar from Butterfly.
