3 Part Lesson — Marcelo teaches how to avoid and counter the Double Leg Takedown: [I] If your opponent shoots a Double, sprawl before he gets too close to your legs and continue sprawling until he stops shooting. Bring your arm in front of his shoulder to connect the Front Headlock and begin an attack. [II] If your opponent is able to tackle you to the ground with the Double, maintain distance by placing one hand on his collar while posting behind with the other. Raise your hips into the air and squirm your way out of his hold back to standing, ready to sprawl again if necessary. [III] If your opponent gets too close while holding you down in the Double, work your Collar Grip with Elbow Control and try to lift him up in hopes for space to stand and/or release.
