North South Choke from Mounted Crucifix Position
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo shares new details on the N/S Choke: [I] You will garner the most success in finishing submissions by attacking your opponent when he opens himself up for an escape. For example, while holding Side Mount with Underhook & Head Control, if your opponent manages to pummel his hand inside, under your armpit, clamp down and find the Reverse Underhook. Before he can continue his escape, block his nearside hip with your hand and look to pin his arm down with your knees for a Mounted Crucifix. Release the Reverse Underhook and drop on his neck for the N/S Choke. [II] If your opponent find a way to put his hand inside your choke, maintain the N/S position by holding his head with one arm squeezing. Use your hand to pry out his arm from the choke. If his nearside hand is inside, push it away; if it's his farside hand, peel it out and across before running to the finish.
