3 Part Lesson — Marcelo shares more details on the Guillotine vs Butterfly: [I] Use your outside foot or knee to slow your descent as your opponent attempts to fall back in escape against your Guillotine Choke versus Butterfly Guard. After controlling his hands and snapping the head down, if he pulls you forward, push his head to your side and drop down slowly into the ¾ Mount. Keep your leg on the outside to take his arm away from his neck as you place your elbow high on his shoulder and squeeze. [II] Prevent any hard landings when you break your opponent back by dropping on your elbow (holding the choke) before bracing with your forehead. [III] If for any reason you cannot establish the Mount properly, you can fall back with the choke into ¾ Guard, where the choke is very strong. Prevent your opponent from escaping by throwing your outside leg heavily on his back as you squeeze for the finish.
