Collar Choke Cradle from Back Control
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo with the help of Paul demonstrates the Collar Choke Cradle and its variations: [I] The Collar Choke Cradle from Back Control is like the Bow-N-Arrow Choke except it is missing the leg across. Instead of mounting over your opponent, scoop up his nearside leg and reach as far as you can, making a grip on either his arm, your collar, his collar, or even your choking arm (like Katahajime). Most practitioners opt to just grab the pants by the knee; this can be broken more easily and should be avoided despite its availability. [II] If your opponent is able to escape his nearside leg before you can solidify the position for the choke, scoop up his far leg in the same cradling manner and finish.
