3 Part Lesson — Marcelo shows effective clinching/clamping control-style sweeps from Butterfly: [I] Utilize 2x-Underhooks to gain access to your opponent's Head-N-Arm for the Bridge Sweep from Half or the Hook Sweep from Butterfly with Underhook & Head Control. Use a Hook Lift to raise your opponent's body within range of catching him in the Control as he settles back down to the mat; cup his shoulders in nogi for better control. [II] If your opponent begins to back out of your control by posting off of the mat, scoot back underneath him and tighten up your grip bringing his shoulders onto yours before rotating your hips for the sweep. [III] If he's too far back before you can recover the position, release his head and hold onto just his shoulder for the same two sweeps. Marcelo successfully hit this sweep against Pablo Popovitch in their match at the 2009 ADCC World Championships.
