2 Part Technique - The opponent will always have the chance to escape Side Control using the under hook and single leg, so you must respond correctly to take advantage of the situation. Sprawl heavily against the Single Leg with the help of your over hook. Secure the Front Headlock from your sprawl to control the new position. Taking the Back off the Front Headlock is an essential technique to learn because of how often this opportunity is offered to you during takedowns and scrambles from the knees. Create space for your knee to enter first during the transition by squeezing the opponent's arm inwards in the Front Headlock. As always, immediately secure the Seat Belt control when the opponent's back is exposed.
