2 Part Lesson — Marcelo demonstrates his Inverted Armbar from Butterfly and 1Leg X: [I] Grab your opponent's elbows from Seated Guard and elevate him overhead with your Butterfly Hooks; when he posts his arms onto the mat to defend the raise, immediately strike an elbow (slightly above the joint) and clasp your hands together as you use your hooks to sit upright. To finalize the submission, simply drop your upper body weight down on top of his elbow with your hands while keeping his wrist pinched between your neck and shoulder. [II] If your opponent latches onto your neck with his arms when you place him in Single Leg X-Guard, you can still hit the Inverted Armbar submission; drop your shoulder inside his forearm to create an angle of attack and strike his elbow joint as before. Utilize your Butterfly Hook/Shin to regulate the distance of his extended arm and sit up for the finish.

I've been hitting this straight arm lock really well from butterfly and x-guard, but is there anyway to avoid them to roll over to escape? When they roll I can connect and roll to a normal armbar, but would be great to avoid that transition that can be trick sometimes. Chees, Marcus
