Back Step Pass vs Half Guard → North South Choke vs Half Guard → Side Control to North South
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo teaches one of his most successful passes for nogi: [I] Your weight distribution atop your opponent's Reverse Half needs to be in the way of a hover; you shouldn't readily land beside your opponent without first pummeling for control, i.e. attaining a Normal or Reverse Underhook. If you cannot find the space open under either of his arms, nudge his chin away with your hip and wrap on the North/South Choke for the Backstep Pass. [II] Your opposite hand can post on your opponent's shoulder to help turn him away and better expose his neck for the hold.
