2 Part Lesson — Marcelo does an Armbar while still inside Half Guard: [I] If your opponent is comfortable deep on his side in Half Guard, switch things up by getting to the opposite side; this will mean either performing a Back Step Pass or pushing off of his face for a Sit-Over Pass. Once on the other side, look to secure the top position with an Underhook, Reverse Underhook, or quickly return back to the original side for a reset in the Half Guard position. [II] If you after you Sit-Over, your opponent tries to keep you from landing and loads you up onto his body, take the Cross Underhook and pull him onto his side for the Farside Armbar from Deep Half. It is important to throw your free leg across his body before extending his arm across the hip on the same side as his legs.
