Double Under Hooks vs Half Guard → Knee Cross vs Half Guard → Over Under Pass vs Half Guard
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo circumvents frames against his Half Guard Pass: Project your weight through your chest and shoulders and drive under your opponent's elbows so that you may occupy the inside space of his or her armpits and pass from Half Mount. Use your grips to help close the distance while you scoop under the arms with Double Underhooks. Don't take any of your weight off of opponent by settling down on your knees while you drive. Try and keep aligned in parallel with the control so that you don't skip over or get deflected too far above your opponent. [08:29] If your opponent leans away from one of your Underhooks, keep the closer one and pass to the opposite side of it. If you gain the Far-Side Under-Hook, pummel the near-side arm for the Over/Under Pass. If you find the Near-Side Under-Hook, cut your outside knee across to the opposite side to pass the Half Guard.
