Scarfold Escape vs Side Control > Sit Up Escape
2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo advises on proper tactics after his opponent passes and drops weight: Don't allow your opponent to control your near-side forearm; keep your hand out from underneath the opponent's armpit. Run your feet away from the opponent's legs while escaping your hip to make room for your bottom knee to insert in between your bodies. Pummel your feet back inside towards a guard from above or below the opponent's arm to recover. [04:14] If your opponent is chasing after your hips to close up the space you create, change directions and sit-up into the opponent. Frame against the opponent's shoulders/chest/biceps and post behind on your elbow or hand to help keep space for your legs to recover back in front and inside.
