2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo sweeps directly from a pull: Pull guard not to hold the bottom position, but to immediately sweep your opponent. Regardless of how you grip your opponent, connect with some form of off-balance that will help you arrive on top. [01:37] Either use the momentum of your pull to help sweep, or the resistance your opponent provides in reaction to help reverse the position. Don't pause even for a second when you reach the mat; make your opponent work to defend the moment he or she notices that your transition from standing has been made.
