Hand Fighting from Butterfly > Single Leg Control
1 Part Lesson -- Marcelo briefly describes an important aspect of playing Butterfly Guard: If your opponent is kneeling in front you while you are seated upright (Seitaishita), you cannot allow them to push you backwards and pin you flat unless it is a part of your plan. Tilt your torso forward, leaning your shoulders ahead of your hips to help brace against a shove from your opponent. If your opponent stands up to split your guard by stepping their lead leg in between your legs, quickly pummel your same-side foot to the inside and grab behind the opponent's leg for Shin-on-Shin/Single-Leg Control (Koala Guard, et al).
