2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo recovers out of Flat-Half: Whenever you are flattened out while holding onto the Half-Guard, and your opponent captures the Farside-Underhook, do your best to block the opponent from gaining control over your head with a Crossface; pummel your forearm towards the inside and frame against the pressure. Twist your hips to the outside like the John-Wayne-Sweep to open up enough space for you to pummel back your own Underhook. Immediately, look to transition from off your back to on your side where you can then switch to more offensive guard-play. [04:25] If you can't find the space to pummel your Underhook from above, turn onto your side and attain the Underhook from below. Dig your elbow across the opponent's chest until your hand gets under the armpit for the control.
