Hand Fighting from Butterfly
3 Part Lesson -- Marcelo provides contingencies for Seated-Guard versus Standing: If your opponent gives you direct access to his lead leg, you can grab it and advance. If his or her hands are in the way, you cannot go directly to the leg; first, address the opponent's hands before attacking their leg. [05:19] Pull your opponent's upper body to expose the lead leg. Yank on both hands, a single arm with 2on1, or even snap their head down to make them base and pitch back away from defending their legs. You can hit an Ankle-Pick when they reel backwards from your initial setup. [08:53] If your opponent is quick to pull away their lead leg from your grasp, plan on continuing forward and attacking their trailing leg.
