Far Side Armbar from Knee on Belly
2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo applies his signature variation of the Farside Armbar from Knee-on-Belly: Secure an Underhook from Knee-on-Belly when you opponent looks to defend the position. Keep control of the opponent's elbow tightly against your chest so that it is difficult for him or her to clasp their hands together to preemptively defend an Armlock. Sling your foot across the opponent's trunk as you fall onto your hip. Readjust your hips underneath the opponent's arm and extend for the submission. [06:10] If your opponent locks his or her hands together in defense of the Armbar, take your time in the position and look to work against his/her wrist and hand. Don't change up the configuration of your arms too much, or if the position is defended well; otherwise you risk losing the submission entirely.
