4 Part Lesson -- Marcelo applies a Spinning Back-Take: Muffle your opponent's Underhook as they attempt to turn towards their knees while you are holding them in Side Control; don't let them reach deeply around your hip or knee. Put weight behind their triceps and force them to Turtle, placing your knee in between their elbow and knee once on All-Fours. Fasten the Seatbelt around the opponent's back and either seek to obtain the Crucifix, or pull them onto your hooks for Back-Mount. If your opponent rushes up onto their knees before you can contain their arm, find control with the Front Headlock Position. Pinch their elbow inside and spin behind their arm for the Seatbelt. [05:39] Hide your leg as your opponent turns up for a Single against your Side Control. Tuck their arm down with your elbow and use your weight to help ruin their attempt. [08:00] If your opponent is moving towards your leg on the side you don't prefer to hold the Seatbelt Control, slow them down as best you can and spin around their head to the opposite side. Still remove your leg from their reach as they turn up onto their side for the Single. [13:17] If your opponent isn't trying to escape from your Side Control, you can coax them by carefully pulling them up off of their side to entice them into your advancement.
