4 Part Lesson -- Marcelo doesn't waste any time pressing forward: Don't hesitate during your match and give your opponent a chance to initiate on their own terms. Place pressure on your opponent by closing the distance but avoiding static control. Take your opponent's hands away from their intended paths and look to clear them out of your way to take a shot. Remember to breathe, get close, avoid their grips, and take a good shot. [6:59] Find the right timing and distance for your takedown; don't take a shot when your opponents hands are ready to intercept your body and prevent you from connecting with your attack. [08:25] If your opponent tries to counter your takedown with Obitorigaeshi or Sumigaeshi, land on your feet in a back arch and bridge back over with your weight on your opponent to secure the top position. [12:20] When you return to face your opponent after bridging, always run towards your opponent's legs to help pin them down and stabilize your control.
