Kimura Grip Seatbelt from Back, Crucifix vs Takedown, Seat belt Control from Back
Marcelo and Atos help Bryan understand his optimal path when defending a Single with a "Kimura-Grip" configuration, and specifically when targeting the opponent's arm for a combinational counter-attack with a "Crucifix": If using a Kimura Grip (Figure-Four Grip, Double Wrist-Lock, et al.), perhaps as a response to an opponent's Single-Leg (Take-Down, Sweep, Reversal), one could potentially trap the opponent's arm inside the Crucifix-Position (by hooking it inside either one or both of your legs) from a number of different scenarios (e.g. Cross-Body Ride, T-Position, Turtle/Sprawl, Firemen's Carry, Sorite, et cetera). Marcelo prefers to force the situation back to the "Seat-Belt" Control since it offers him more direct access to the Rear Naked Choke (Straight-Choke, one-handed variation, etc.), as well as the ability to pull his opponent's shoulders away from the mat and help maintain back exposure.
